If science were to prove that a cornerstone of my scientific beliefs was false my faith in science as a whole would be shaken. Not the scientific process but broad base of knowledge we call science.

And a number of the most fundamental parts are the most in question; whether the various unverifiable GUTs (or "theories of everything" as we call them now) even qualify as science rather than general philosophy is quite a hot little debate. "You can never know everything, and part of what you know is always wrong. Perhaps even the most important part. A portion of wisdom lies in knowing that. A portion of courage lies in going on anyway". So it would tell you to do what science has already told you to do; good.
