Yeah, I agree with you. Further, I would assume that most of the kids and people searching were indeed just looking to find out more info about him. At the least I would be that most of the kids know he was a bad guy who helped attack the US. But one act does not make a person and kids are curious, so why not ask "who" Osama was rather than the one act they know that he committed. Joel just isn't thinking clearly, though it could be argued he never does.
