I have exceptional night vision. And I'll have to opt for lasek most likely... While my eyes are apparently relatively dry.
You'll definitely have dry eyes after Lasek. It doesn't happen much after Lasik from what they told me but it is pretty much a Lasek thing. Same with Halos. They seem to be more prevalent with Lasek versus Lasik. Mine seem ot be getting better and, as I said in my other post, they seem to be worse when I am tired or my eyes dry.
To help with the dry eyes they had me start Restasis a few weeks before the surgery because it takes a few weeks to kick in and I still use eye drops. It jump starts tear production until your body gets its own going again.
As far as eye drops go, you can't just use any eye drops either, you have to use preservative free professional stuff. I use Systane and Optive. Systane is a little gooier and cooling while Optive are great for a quick drop on the run or during the day.
I had to use them everyday for about four months after surgery and you have to use them every four hours minimum for at least a month or two after surgery. I use them now as needed.
You'll also have to use steroid drops and anti-biotic drops for a month or two after surgery. Maybe the steroid drops for longer if needed depending on well you heal. I think I used steroid drops for about six months.
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...

I've read it destroys your night vision. Do you need to drive at night? *NM*
