Still haven't finished Caleb's jacket because I can't get the sewing up to work. Tim has drafted in a friend to help me out, but she's away till 11 July. I am a bad aunty.
Well, you could always bring it with you. We'll need something to occupy you while the menfolk are out conquering the wild mountains.
Also still haven't got a hat for your wedding, but I have at least decided what I am going to wear. You'll have to be prepared for the fact that I will be wearing a just-below-the-knee dress with Converse sneakers. I can't wear other shoes. Went to a ball last night wearing my wedding dress and a pair of sneakers.

I am shocked and appalled, but I am sure I will survive (as long as there is a hat to distract from the footwear. I have already had two people tell me they are wearing black and one announce a red dress, so we are not sticking too closely to formalities.
So. I will have to find a hat this week.
You are lucky to live in Edinburgh. Molde does not have a single hat store, apparently. More shock and appallation (or whatever the noun would be).
What's the more stressful thing: wedding or PhD? If it's the former, tell your Mum to deal with it however she likes.

The combination, I think. It is not that I am stressing about the wedding, but that I keep being asked to do stuff or have an opinion on stuff when I should be focusing on something very different. I just wanted to throw a big party. Who knew it was this much work. I am beginning to understand why society ladies back in the day could not also work.

Tired. I would much rather be in bed... or sit on a terrace somewhere, drinking fresh mint tea

I'll seriously contemplate reviewing it. It'll be a challenge, but it's certainly a worth while book
