I find it incredulous to presume other newspapers haven't engaged in similar behaviour. Of course, I could likely be falling foul of a logical fallacy, but I doubt everyone has clean hands.
The general feeling amongst journalists for the broadsheets is that all the tabloids (and possibly the broadsheets as well) were up to it, the News of the World was just the worst and the only one there is hard evidence against. I'm taking that view to be pretty reliable since they probably know it first hand, they just don't have anything to prove it so they can't name who else has done it.
