not as long as he has the high functioning moron Joe Biden as VP.

Funny how people don't seem to cut Bush any slack for be handed an economy that had already slipped into recession but when it comes to our credit rating being downgraded that is about our debt and the grim chances of us changing the trend. Obama by no means caused all of the countries fiscal problems but his actions have made them worse and have lead us to be downgraded. First he had massive stimulus package with a focus on a political agenda instead of actually stimulating the economy that was poorly planned and stuffed with prok. He pushed through a massive job killing health care bill that did nothing to fix the problems in the system but only grew the existing out of control system and added to the debt. He extended the Bush tax cuts even though he had control of both houses and then played chicken with the GOP to try and kill those same tax cuts. Not because he needed to try and kill them since they expire while he is still in office but because his base demanded a business as usual tit for tat. He failed to get the tax cuts and his actions and those of the senate stopped us from getting the increased spending cuts we needed. This was an opportunity to get some real entitlement reform but his priority was not having to deal with a debt ceiling extension again before the next election.
So yeah Obama didn't cause all the problems but he is the POTUS and his actions have not improved things so he gets a nice helping of blame pie and his attempts to not eat it won't help him come November 2012.
