10, so a magnitude difference of 0.5 would result in 3 times more power. or so. (3.16? I always mess up that number.) Edit: Not power, power is base 31 or so, but magnitude of the seismograph waves. Power would be 5.5 or so.

Yeah, see....we understand about the other factors in an earthquake. We live with them all the time. But the earthquake n00bs....they are excitable.

Fact. I always giggle at the UK and its 3.9 quakes!


I have experienced two quakes of that magnitude. It's really shocking. The bed was rocking enough to make me go back to sleep.
