The world is slowly shifting in favor of democracies generally, particularly because radical socialist experiments still fail everywhere and with incredible speed. Chavez turned Venezuela into a broken nation, with supply problems and terrible inflation and falling oil revenues due to inefficient production. Because the fundamental failure of Marxism (or any mutated variant thereof, like "Bolivarianism" ), the right is unlikely to feel that existential threat that would make dictators appealing.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
