I have had some cheese outside of the deli counter.

Today's topic: Cheese. Favorite? Least favorite? Good? Bad? Useless?
Favourite: a long list including camembert, brie, roquefort, old Gouda and comparable Dutch/Belgian/German/... cheeses, and many others.
Least favourite: not sure I have any.
I'll start with that cheddar is the best cheese of all time.
Hardly. Good cheddar is nice enough, but the cheaper kinds are somewhat hit and miss in my experience - and in any case I think there are tons of cheeses that are a lot better. In the US you almost need a specialized shop to encounter anything other than cheddar and "Swiss cheese", though, in my experience at least. No wonder people start thinking cheddar is the best cheese, if it's essentially the only cheese...
Good cheddar, real fresh mozzarella, Gouda, etc. And what do you propose is the best cheese, and why (assuming you had to pick one).
I'm not strange. I'm normal. Everyone else is strange.

Fromage? Good stuff. Though you can't really get it too much here.

Interesting... you have a kind of cheese that is referred to as fromage?

Cheddar is okay. What isn't okay is the US doesn't seem to have much of anything else.

That's just because American is processed to the point of total consistency.

Those are processed, yes. As is "American" cheese. As is most cheese you find in supermarkets.

<3 Brie, but I don't like the rind either, and I'm not embarrassed about not eating it.
