It was a small study that showed what sort of shows a kid watches makes a difference. It only covered short term exposure, a different sort of study would need to be done to see if kids become desynthesized to TV. The fact that the study was limited doesn't make it sloppy it just means people shouldn't misuse and jump to conclusions by doing thing like claiming watch Spongebob makes you stupid.
