I don't mind the directness, I want someone to engage/argue with me. Vivien Send a noteboard - 14/09/2011 10:37:02 PM
I'm bored, ok?

It is well known that you are a guy that is 100% only interested in very small framed women - and you even married one. And that's 100% fine. It's what you like, it's what you want. It's what you should have.

But to go all out like this against "fat people" because they use words like "plus sized" and say that they are just justifying bad behavior by doing so? Shame on you.

I'm fat, and have been for a very long time. I ALWAYS refer to myself as "fat", and never any other way because it simply is the truth. You wouldn't catch me in a bikini EVER, and very likely would not catch me in a swimsuit - and I L.O.V.E. the water. I HATE the way I look, and am working on it (with some success I might add), but it's an emotional, stressful process for me.

Every single morning when I've woken up for many years, my thought as I get in the shower has been , I think "TODAY is the day I start this diet thing! TODAY I am going to eat better!" and until April, that lasted until the first big stresser of the day and I had a bagel or fru fru coffee, or whatever. I didn't get drunk, or snort coke or get some other kind of high, I ATE.

Now. Having said all that - I saw this post and thought at first that the last thing I wanted was to see a fat girl in a bikini - but it wasn't bad. And it was VERY SWEET of Vivian to remember that people mentioned not being able to find good fitting clothes and posting this.

I just think that we are all entitled to our own opinions - God Bless America and all that - but your comment was very harsh, and really quite unnecessary - and even a little bit hurtful.

I'm not trying to argue with you - God knows I wouldn't win that - and I know that you are very often harsh and painfully direct, but I just didn't see the need for your extra harsh words here.

That's very interesting that your first reaction was that you didn't want to look at a fat girl in a bikini and you were surprised that it actually looked good! Thanks!

I don't think it's a good thing that you hate the way you look, I don't think that's productive or healthy. It's also so silly to point out to a woman that she's fat- as if she doesn't know! In terms of health, I really think it's best to focus on health metrics rather than pounds. There's no guarantee that you'll lose weight or how much or how quickly but if you work on improving your cardio or strength or stuff like blood sugar levels, cholesterol, etc, that should be somewhat in your control. At the same time, I don't like that fat people have to justify their health- that they eat right and exercise. There are lots of skinny people that are completely inactive and eat terribly.
