WTF, exactly, does Daniels think we've "had too much of"?

"As a practical matter, it's a loser," he said, describing the plan as "hair-of-the-dog economics."
"You know people that have had way too much of something they shouldn't and there's always somebody who says have another one, it'll make you feel better -- it just doesn't work any better in this case," Daniels said.

We haven't raised taxes since the '90s; how have we "had way too much of" tax increases? The hair of the dog approach is to say, "we've been cutting taxes for a decade and the economy's in the toilet; clearly, we need more tax cuts."
Lost in all this, of course, is this trivial little note:
In total, the Obama deficit-reduction package would seek to raise taxes, mostly on high-income households, by $1.5 trillion over the next decade.
About half of that is from letting the Bush tax cuts expire for households making more than $250,000. Other changes would strip tax breaks for oil and gas companies and other benefits.

Can someone show me the tax hike there? He's talking about not yet again extending decade old tax cuts that should never have been made (again, the ACTUAL hair of Gov. Daniels dog) and getting rid of loopholes that also should never have existed, but none of that is anything new nor a tax hike. It's the same deal he floated six months ago but this time HE'S calling it a tax hike just as emphatically as Republicans are. I love the smell of collusion in the morning; it smells like... bankruptcy....
