It works. And it's a very good thing to have in countries like Afghanistan, where the male soldiers aren't allowed to interact with the women. The Swedish Armed Forces are screaming for women who can fill more combat-y positions. But the pay is even worse than the army's reputation for treating women, so few take the bite.
