Agreed about driving in the country. I taught one of my Indian roommates how to drive when I lived in Atlanta and we went from:
Driving in the 'abandoned on the weekends' industrial zones
to
Driving on the highways 30 miles or more out of town
to
Driving in ATL itself
I love driving cross-country, myself. I'm happy spending hours and hours on the road. I drove down to Panama City a couple of weekends ago, (about 7 hours) and it was great. Unfortunately, the trip back was bad weather/bad traffic... so, not so good.
Next Friday I'm driving to Kansas. Always look forward to seeing the family.
