No mention of currency manipulation, Chinese industrial policy (maybe the American government can't pick winners, but the Chinese, German, Japanese, and Korean ones sure seem to be able to do so, and quite well), or that access to the Chinese market is contingent upon establishing manufacturing centers there as well as transfer of technology. Then we should probably throw in the security of both East Asia and the oil-rich Arab states paid for by U.S. taxpayers. Oh, and the type of education here is really of the on-the-job type. A superficial and one-sided look at the issue, which is totally what I'd expect from the rag that is the NYT.
