It's a high stress situation, it's easy to have a slip of the tongue.
Some people are just morons, though.
The format of the show is that a single contestant is given four true or false statments and has about thirty seconds to decide an answer for each. If they are correct they get a bonus for the final round where the get to pick queston categories. if they are wrong on any question there is a pool of other contestants who are then given the same questions and the first contestants answers but with a relatively unlimited timeframe and if they are totally correct they select the final round category.
In the circumstances where this arose the contestant had one of the four correct (the solar system question) which should have made it simple for them. This wasn't a case of being overpressured, just simple collective moronism.
