I'm going into a field that is a certified graduate-work-required profession, and I am pretty apathetic as to people's general use of the word profession. Yes, if someone uses it in a manner where they are trying to equate the hard work and money I have put into my degrees to someone who's a lifer at McDs, it irritates me...but in general people abusing the term is rather beneath my notice.
