So if your point is invalid the problem is me; glad to see you are being objective here. Joel Send a noteboard - 03/02/2012 04:23:03 AM
I didn’t say we wouldn’t get anyone IO just questioned the quality of what we get.

Yeah, there is a lot of that questioning going around these days, hence the cameras.

The public seems more than a little too eager to abuse the right to filming police officers. If you get caught posting edited footage to give a false impression what happens to you? Hell most people are so convinced the cop was wrong they will continue to believe it even after it is proven the cop followed procedures. I might agree with the idea that cops are video tapped officially and the footage looked at if there are complaints but they should be hostage to any dickweed with a phone that takes video and public who is willing to make judgments based on what said dickweed posted on youtube.

If someone posts footage falsely representing events to defame officers or a police force that seems like grounds for a libel suit. If someone makes it the basis of action against the police we get into areas like filing a false report or perhaps even perjury (yea, I got convicted of a felony; that showed those pigs! )

Bottom line is still that anything done on a public street is public, not private. Again, people get arrested daily for that reason. Why do cops merit a lower standard?
