And they also face in on direction. They don't monitor every move and decision the officer makes. Being monitored constantly and knowing your every move can be second guessed by someone who may or may not have your best interest at heart is hard enough. Couple that with the already high stress job of police officers trying work with unruly and aggressive crowds and you are going to have a lot of trouble keeping the best and the brightest on your police force. I mean who would put up with that level of stress if they had better options? And the reason you are being ask to tolerate that level of stress? Because the public you have pledged to serve decided they don't trust you and want the option of being able to pass judgment if they can find something that looks bad on tape.
I really don't object to the public being able to film the police but it has gotten out of control. Now we have protesters try to instigate situations just so they can capture them on tape. There needs to be over sight of the police force but these people trying to catches something on video are becoming a problem. I see videos of people trying to shove camera in to officers faces while they are try to do their jobs. That level of interference should be allowed. Trying to instigate a confrontation in order to capture it on video should be a ticket able offense.
