I thought it said "Picky eaters need to apply." I was sooo ready for Mars.
Lol, aw.
Also, was Aemon said makes me sad, because that book was on my "to do (someday)" list, but that sounds very discouraging.
Well, I know quite a few people who like it, so it depends on your reading style. There is a bit more political content than I favor, but I was much too caught up in the whole expedition/goal to want to stop. That doesn't sound like a glowing recommendation, but I mostly mean that while there were a few parts I thought were boring, they were interesting enough not to stop me. I mean, think about it - the sections on preparation, politics and interpersonal relationships might seem unnecessary, but are really important to the whole (if it's going to be anything approaching a realistic story). I mean, you've got highly intelligent people stuck together for the rest of their lives? In a small area? It's worth discussing the attitudes and issues.

Ok, sorry. I'm on a roll. This one is about food and Mars.

I didn't enjoy it, but that doesn't mean it won't be your thing. It won a lot of awards and stuff.

Call me a cynic, but until they have a way to reach orbit again, Martian food is premature.

I won't call you a cynic, but I could suggest that maybe you should plan a visit to Kennedy. *NM*

Why? The Johnson Space Center is the only one doing any work on manned space missions.

They should just do an "Ender's Game" and really send them to Mars and back.

I really need to read that. I left my copy at home when I moved over.
