I've spent a very little bit of time in Wichita. I found it dismal, but I wouldn't take it personally. I live in Iowa, and people certainly find reason enough to denigrate or condescend the place without ever having spent any time here; so I can be almost certain that Kansas has redeeming qualities of which I am simply unaware.

Same goes for Nebraska, really. They just seem like speed bump states, long and between me and what I'm trying to get to.
