Also, I was going to rank Mario Gomez besides Ibrahim Afellay in the "why the hell is this guy on the national team when he never does anything useful that I can see" category, but both of those goals were impressive.


Until this tournament I'd always wondered why Germany and Bayern were playing him as he always seemed pretty limited and to struggle in big games, I'm coming around to him now though. He just needs to keep it up.


But his last two seasons for Bayern have been excellent, so I never got why he wouldn't deserve a chance in the National team. Which he now proved to deserve.
