Didn't he go to Euro 2008 and the 2010 WC without managing to score a goal though?
and it is still early I guess, he could go on to miss numerous chances in the rest of Germany's games and not score again.
True, his performances there were nothing to write home about. But now, as part of a whole Bayern axis, it works.
If he doesn't score anymore and we get thrown out, he can still say: We wouldn't even have gotten that far without me!
