McDonalds, for years, had their own chicken sandwich, which they still have. They recently added a "Southern Style" chicken sandwich that tastes more like a Chick Fil A sandwich. Now, if you want a chicken sandwich at McDonalds, you can choose from either the classic McDonalds crispy/grilled or you can have one more like the iconic Chick Fil A sandwich. I don't see what there is to disagree with.
You say they recently added the "Southern Style." How recently? I've never noticed it on the menu at an McDonald's. If it was fairly recently, maybe it's being tested in certain markets. Anyway, next time I go, I'll look for it. Maybe it's there and I simply didn't see it. Besides, I figure there's only so many "recipes" for a chicken sandwich and they've been around for at least several decades. To assign one to a particular establishment seems odd to me.
