You say they recently added the "Southern Style." How recently? I've never noticed it on the menu at an McDonald's. If it was fairly recently, maybe it's being tested in certain markets.
Recent being relative, I think it's been on McDonalds menus in Indiana and Kentucky (the 2 states I spend the most time in) for at least three years.
I typed in "southern style chicken sandwich" in Google and the first responses were "versus" style comparisons with Chick Fil A.
