Basically each time we go to the movie theater near the air base to see films in original language the Americans there bring toddlers or kids below 5 for films that are not made for them, even if it isn't midnight but "only" 9pm. I thought maybe it's an American thing, or lack of a babysitter, so I am glad to see it's frowned upon from your side, too.
I'd guess lack of babysitter there. But most of us don't like it, though kids are becoming a little bit of a "don't like it, lump it" thing. I pissed off some people because I pointed out that their child was bouncing me around by hopping about in his booth that was connected to mine. They didn't fix the problem.
If you were in the Aurora theater with your infant, would you leave them him and run to safety?
