People don't like outsiders criticizing them, even when the criticism is relatively valid. It's kind of universal. If I remember, Americans once renamed french fries and threw about a bazillion angry surrender jokes around when a country unrelated to the fries themselves didn't like what you were planning to do in Iraq. :P

You've got to imagine that everyone involved with the London Olympics has been stressed right the hell out. They want it to go well and they don't want to hear some foreign dignitary uninvolved with the process pointing out the flaws.

But if you were really just trying to come around to the point that the American media looks for any chance to criticize Romney, well sure. Though I bet the other side of the American media could just as easily use it the other way and say look, the socialists don't like him, he must be a hero. Same old story, same old song.
