He is now a poster boy for the nanny state. First it was transfat, which was not extremely controversial, then salt, which was not terribly controversial, but now he's proposed the soda ban (which means you can buy a pitcher of beer but not a pitcher of Coke if you and a few friends are out at a restaurant; you can also buy two smaller sizes and generate more garbage), and, more recently, his "Latch on New York" program which would put baby formula under lock and key in hospitals. The man is becoming a menace and has destroyed any resonance he might have had two years ago.
Kind of sad and scary that the guy once garnered attention as a possible presidential candidate.
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...
