Heaven forbid an artist find out someone they disagree with likes their stuff and either nods and thinks "Good, a compliment" or limits his remarks to "Well I obviously disagree with his politics, but I'm not in the habit of making nasty remarks about my fans. I hope he keeps listening and maybe he'll hear my message." You know, like a civilized person with an ounce of class.

And no I'm not a fan, and yeah I know Morello is not exactly nown for being soft-spoken, I don't really care, I don't give artists passes for being jerks outside of their actual work.


While I'll admit part of me found the rhetoric to be amusing, another part thought he could have been civil or let it drop, since Ryan hasn't said anything other than RATM were one of his favorite bands when he was younger. But something must be in the water; Dave Mustaine (whose late 80s/early 90s Megadeth albums I enjoyed) made even sillier comments and Hank Jr. certainly got in trouble last year for his outspokenness. It seems the "silly season" has infected a few singers all along the political spectrum.
