They might have read the writing on the wall that we sick of weird shit up here, and hold people to something resembling a standard. Or I'm just tossing off and am in my own little New England echo-chamber, and my observations mean very little in the grand scheme of things. The latter isn't impossible, as you know, since the Patriots were robbed this past January.

Before "The Constitution by GO(P)" banned me for posting that picture of Reagan with the birth certificate he did not have until 1991 (meaning he could not have voted, much less run, in the states now demanding that requirement,) MA furnished quite a chuckle. One of the Tea Partiers was so deeply offended by his belief OWS had destroyed sacrosanct PROPERTY during a protest, so insistent the very notion was dangerously and disgustingly un-American, I was obliged to ask if he knew what actually happened at the Boston Tea Party.

Meh; if New England Republicans retained the same role they had in Nelson Rockefellers day the GOP might not scare the Hell out of me, but they do not, so it does.
