I felt so too, about the relative importance of what another person eats on the life-happiness scale. But she had a very strong belief that children should be raised to eat everything, and sharing the foods she would make with someone who appreciated all of them was also important to her. One thing that's true is, you can't decide what does or does not make other people happy.

And thanks again! So far I feel it's the best thing I've written to date, and I should have a completed 650-page first draft within another week or less. Then it'll be into the refinement, editing, and feedback process before I venture to see if anyone wants to pay me money for it. I'm quite excited about it, even if the answer to that question is no. I'd still put it up somewhere for people to read and would still keep writing more. Right now I'm doing it because it makes me happy.
