but some things are hard to resist poking fun at.
The losing streak at Wimbledon being one of those things - and you know, there's a reason why Wimbledon's tennis club is called the "All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club".
The losing streak at Wimbledon being one of those things - and you know, there's a reason why Wimbledon's tennis club is called the "All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club". But that is different from suggesting he's not British

It's funny you should take that example, because Eddy Merckx is one of those rare things around which all Belgians can unite, kind of like Belgian fries that way (or the national football team, now that they don't suck for the first time in two decades). With many other Belgians that you could name, the suggestion of them being not properly Belgian would actually make a lot of sense - and some, like some Scotsmen, would indeed prefer not to be called that.
That was why I picked him - I figured he was probably someone no one would accuse him of not being Belgian.
Anyhow, of course I agree that Murray is British, especially since he doesn't seem to be one of those Scots who would rather *not* be British - but still they are, at least for the time being.
That's fine. Really I'm just against anyone encouraging Joel's already badly mangled idea of foreign (to him) countries.
I don't think independence is that likely - last I saw around 30% were for it. Though a Tory government in power in Westminster always makes a strong case for it

Henning Mankell "We must defend the open society, because if we start locking our doors, if we let fear decide, the person who committed the act of terror will win"

So, I found this video explaining the differences between The UK, Great Britain, England, etc.
