I lived 20 mins from there. I'm shocked. I'm even heading back there in 4 days....

It really didn't hit me until today. I can't find a list of the students that were murdered so I can't find out if I knew any of the families until I call my parents this morning.
Everywhere is referencing the Virginia Tech shootings too. This is ridiculous that the largest school shooting happened at a school I currently go to and the second largest is in the town that literally bordered mine. Out of all the possible places. I guess I'm just lucky that I was never in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Plus I'm sick and tired of talking about stricter guns laws the same day that this happened. Leave politics out of this for once and god damn it, just let some people have some time to mourn. Discuss gun laws in a day or two.
EDIT: About the gun laws, I'm mainly referring to the politicians and people from home. You guys and most of the folks online aren't personally affected so it's not like you need that mourning period. But when someone comes on the news saying "I'm sorry BUUUUUTTTTTT..." or when a parent of one of friends posts about writing gun control letters to congress I think that time can be better spent writing condolences. Save that discussion for a time when we can analyze the situation and not when people are still wrapping their heads around what happened here.

I frequently confuse that detail of Hinckleys shooting with Chapmans, sorry.

Chapman wasn't a mass murderer, though. Neither was Hinckley.

True, but it does demonstrate how easily and frequently notoriety motivates shootings.
