I find mizuna to be near-intolerable. Stephen Send a noteboard - 07/04/2013 04:40:04 AM

View original postGood list. I wish I'd have enough room for San Marzano and Roma.

View original postWell, I've got only two balconies downtown, so a lot of things are out for me.

View original postTomatoes:

View original postChibbikko (Japanese)

View original postTzi Bi U (Chinese)

View original postJaune Flammée (southern France)

View original postYellow Banana and Lime Green Salad(midwest US)

View original postPrincipe Borghese (Italian, for sun dried tomatoes)

View original post12 planters total.

View original postPeppers:

View original postChi-chien (Chinese)

View original postEspelette (Pays Basque, to dry and grind)

View original postHabanero, Jalapeno (Mexico)

View original postJwala (India, for Madras curries)

View original postPedron (Spain, to marinate with olives in oil for tapas and stuff)

View original postBoldog (essentially to grind for Hungarian paprika)

View original postPetit Marseillais (French, a little like scotch bonnet)

View original postShishito (Japanese)

View original postLong Sweet (actually very hot. Thailand)

View original postFor herbs, I pretty much have all the European classics, plus Mexican and Vietnamese coriander, and japanese Shiso.

View original postThen I confine myself to harder to find veggies/greens:

View original postMizuna, Mitsuba, Komatsuna, japanese ginger and bunching onions, Suhyo and Yamato cucumbers and Kamo eggplants.

View original postFor the rest, lots of flowers and stuff.

We grew it at home a few years ago, and its safe to say there are few things I detest more than it.
