What's with the hatred for poor King George and the Brits today?

On a somewhat related topic, the Economist is claiming that the PQ looks set to win elections in April and resurrect the independence movement - what are your thoughts on that? Have to say I had pretty much assumed that in the twenty years since 1995, that idea had pretty much become a firmly minority position, so I'm a bit surprised. But then, it's been ten years now since I was over there and had any kind of sense of what was going on, so I probably did miss a lot.
