I said that if my ONLY TWO OPTIONS were to let him rot or take the deal Obama took, I would let him rot rather than expose countless Americans to the additional danger posed by the Taliban leadership.
I consider that to be a patriotic position that puts my country above politics. Obama, to the contrary, put politics ahead of his country, because he was more concerned about closing Guantanamo Bay to appease his base than about the danger that the people released pose. He released the five because they were on the short list of "indefinite detainees" that keep him from closing the prison.
