Is this a football post? I could not find anything to disagree with in the whole thing. Maybe MacArthur. He was hung out to dry because FDR wanted to inflame the country into a war fever so he could make Europe safe for communism. There wasn't much he could have done with what he had at the outset of the campaign, he didn't bungle Japanese reconstruction and he was more right than wrong in Korea.
