In some cases they were proven wrong, in others not. Legolas Send a noteboard - 04/12/2015 12:49:50 AM

View original postThey promoting hate and anti-police attitude in areas that more policing not cops that scared to engage because facts don't matter once the camera lights are on. Virtually every case they latch on to turns out to be BS. IT is racism to assume a person was treated poorly by the police because of their race when they is zero evidence to support that. Michael Brown was a thug who attacked a police officer but that did not stop them from ruining the life of the police officer and they still walk around shouting "hands up don't shoot" despite the fact the entire hands line has been proven to be BS.

There have been far too many of these cases to keep talking about Michael Brown. In the ones where the cops were clearly in the wrong, or even crossed the line to downright murder, they do face justice - but that's not going to bring the victims back to life.
View original postYou can't litigate perception and being angry and end your face may make great TV but they have taken that approach to the point where it is doing them more damage than good. At some point the black community is going to have to face the reality that the way they are treated is at least partially based on they way they behave.

What is 'the black community', exactly? Do they have membership cards? Did they sign up to be held accountable for the actions of black criminals? Yes, it's true that black Americans are statistically more likely to be violent criminals, so their extreme overrepresentation in prisons and on death row is justified in part. It's also true that they are statistically punished heavier for the same crimes than white Americans, whether it's drug offences or death row cases.

'All lives matter' is a fair enough reply to 'black lives matter', but only if it's an expression of a real and serious commitment to tackling police excesses and miscarriages of justice for all Americans, including but not limited to the black ones. Not if it just means "there is no problem here, move along, nothing to see".
