Ignoring your white supremacy idiocy he can't be so thin skinned and he needs understand when hitting back is a bad idea. If he would have just said he was sorry for their loss but disagrees with their politics this would have went away. Cindy Sheehan was a mad cow trying to get famous off her sons death but Bush had enough sense not to engage her.
These people started using their son as an immunity card to attack Trump. Khan came out of the blue criticizing Trump's speech on immigration, with Clinton following right up, then seven months later, had him speaking at the close of the Democratic convention. It wasn't a particularly on-target speech, either, with Khan seeming to believe that the Constitution guarantees Muslim immigration, before sneering that Trump had sacrificed nothing. They went on a talk show to talk about upset they were at their son's death, and demand that the GOP repudiate their candidate. They said Trump had a dark soul, for crying out loud, before Trump finally responded, saying "Captain Khan, killed 12 years ago, was a hero, but this is about RADICAL ISLAMIC TERROR and the weakness of our "leaders" to eradicate it!" He never took shots at the Khans, while they were making ad hominem attacks on Trump, and being given a soapbox to do so by MSNBC & Democratic Convention. When you make partisan political attacks 12 years after your son's death, at a political convention, and call the opposing candidate names, you have pretty much forfeited any right to hide behind your grief.
If the anecdotal evidence of a heroic captain from a Muslim immigrant family is so meaningful, what about a mass-murdering major from a Muslim immigrant family? If we had not let Muslims into this country, maybe Khan would be alive in his parents' homeland, and all of the Fort Hood victims as well.
Khan's argument is bullshit, and Trump didn't do anything other than reiterate his point about terrorism. If he hadn't said anything, everyone would be talking about the great moral victory won by a pair of trolls in cowing Trump into silence.
