This is a pure political ruling that has no basis in reality. That being said, with a 10 to 5 majority (6 appointed by Obama) Democrat to Republican majority on the court, is anyone actually surprised by this ruling? Much like their ruling allowing a 17 year old girl to use the boy's bathroom at school (which has been stayed), this will end up before SCotUS. It will be interesting to see if SCotUS issues a stay on that ruling as well; a compelling argument can be made both ways.
