more and more people are cognizant of the weaknesses of translation these days, rather than assuming that it's possible to do a completely accurate and infallible translation.

Of course, that leads to some people leaning too far in the other direction, and saying that it's impossible do an accurate or comprehensible translation. But that's a pretty normal backlash in these sorts of scenarios. Someday equilibrium will be reached.
