I just got over a flu, and that could even have been H1N1 in which case I'm covered, but since I don't know for sure, I'll be sure.
I get flu vaccines every year, but with my trashed lungs that only makes sense. It doesn't prevent them every time, but it might stop some and keep me out of trouble.
And you're right - H1N1 is somewhat milder than regular seasonal flu. The only real differences are that it's more contagious (as in you're more likely to get it if not vaccinated) and that those it makes seriously ill and occasionally (thankfully rarely) kills are of a very different profile from those who usually die from flu.
Normal flu kills by weakening the system enough that you die - which means that those with strong systems don't die. They just get sick. For some strange reason H1N1 tends to be quite mild except in some folks who get seriously ill. What's weird is that those who do get seriously ill aren't the usual suspects. They aren't little kids with asthma or the elderly, they are instead top triathletes and otherwise very healthy folks. Elderly seldom die from H1N1. The main deaths are from the mid teens to late middle age. Pregnant women are particularly hard hit for some reason.
Which makes it WEIRD.

May God stand between you and harm in all the empty places you must walk.
