You know, I really dislike how this site formats quotes from reply to posts. Feels intrusive.

I didn't read the Television without pity forums, just glanced it at briefly, so I don't know what you're talking about.

The sand drawing - the backstory isn't that comlicated, not more than what's obvious. A young couple is broken up by war, there's bombing, death, baby is born. Did you get how the young woman was holding an envelope, then her face changed with age and grief? I didn't see the letter the first time I watched it. That was awesome.

The most moving part were the small figures kneeling by a monument/grave with a church in the background, mostly due to the music. The song's lyrics are, "Sometimes, soldiers, instead of dying, turn into cranes/herons. That's why people feel sad when they look up into the sky."

And just the overall sense of loss, unnecessarily destruction that was WWII.
