So, how do you feel about your books?
I used to really love my books, but now I just love certain ones.

Yes, actually. They have a strange sentimental value that can't put my finger on. They certainly aren't valuable as collectors items. and somehow I ended up with Goodkind books, I really need to get rid of those. 
I know many of you don't like the ideas of eBooks. That's fine enough. To each his/her own. This post is more about possession. About intellectual exchange, and what it means to be finished with a book. I don't consider it a mark of education to see or to not see books in a household. I know others who would never dream of getting rid of their books. I know plenty of people in tiny apartments who make use of the library.
meh, if a book isn't good I don't finish it. I toss it aside. If it's a good book that meant something to me, I cherish it and keep it, or buy it on hardcover. My mother-in-law reads everything and seems to like everything. I, OTOH, am a very picky reader.
I wonder if my books are my last true "material attachment". If working in bookstores and libraries, seeing my mother with over 3000 books, being surrounded by librarians and academics has left me thinking that a house "needs" books in view(Great way to judge, people, btw.)
You don't have nice old clothes you wouldn't dream of throwing away? A jacket perhaps? A really great comfortable yet sturdy pair of shoes? A hat? Have any furniture? Heirloom knicknacks for chrissakes?Though I have written this post to see what Rafolites think, I am almost certain to give away all my books to the local library. Karma means actions. And I do think it would be a good action to help a library and in the process perhaps help some future readers of these books be able to access these books.
Meh, I give books to the library all the time. I have also taken books that the library said they were going to get rid of though, so I suppose it evens out. Hey! Why don't you send your books in a care package to troops overseas?
