I think they're a nice fit with your bedroom set (from the link above; I'm not stalking you :P ).

You have very specific requirements about what you want that most people who "wouldn't ever spend that much on shelves" just don't. It's all about the tradeoff.

If you have the money, and can't find anything you like better (or enough) in a lower price range, get them. If you're worried about whether they'll be sturdy enough, they're probably as sturdy as something in that design style can be, but make sure you research the company's return policy just in case you find them not to be. Perhaps you could find a store that has similar shelves and check them out in person for the sturdiness factor before you buy them, if you decide that's an important concern.


Thank you! That's my dilemma, all example of cheap, good bookcases people give are all wood. I'd love to buy the same thing at half price, I just haven't found it. (Although Tom's link was good. But if anything, it tempts me towards even more expensive items.) This was my experience when I was shopping for a bedroom set - anything that's contemporary style, and just a little different & interesting, is already a lot more expensive.
