Aside from the obvious vegetarian viewpoint, would we agree that it's a "man" thing to insist upon a big ol' hunk of beef (or other substantial meat portion) at most meals?

I would say this is primarily American, but that's too restrictive. "Western" may be too broad, but we'll lean that way anyway. And I still think it's more of a male requirement than female.

Thoughts?


perhaps if you use it in the term of 'real man', but I know more male vegetarians than female ones...

but women are way more likely to have irrational reasons to avoid meat in the meal - you know, like "poor animals" or "it makes for a better use of our resources if we don't eat as much beef", while the men I know who does it do it for good reasons, like it's not tasting good, they don't feel like it, or it disagrees with their stomachs.
