but if you were strictly speaking the requirements of the physiological demands of an at rest maintenance adult animal, the nutritional demands are approximately equivalent (no where near different enough to demand an intake difference)
Once you start throwing in "not at rest" states, the state with the highest nutritive demand is lactation, which last I checked, men don't do
