I never realized that I grew up on Soul Food until I was in the military and there was a "Soul Food" day in the Chow hall once.


'Course in my family, we also canned our own green beans, pickles, beets, tomatoes, peaches and anything else that was delicious. I've snapped enough green beans in my lifetime to fill an oil tanker.
