While I obviously don't have girl parts, I have been in comparable situations and I found the thing is to feel as dignified as possible. Personally I think standing/sitting/lying around with no underpants on but wearing socks just looks a little silly.

On the plus side at least you will only have one or two other people there. Try being naked with your legs up in stirrups in a cold (I swear it was cold okay) operating theatre full of people. You just lie there hoping that they knock you out as quickly as possible. And as I said it was cold. Honest.
