How do you have intimate conversations, and build deep connections? I'm good with groups, but one on one, it's always weird.


I forget who the author was, but he wrote a story about how he spent one evening at a party only asking questions and getting people to talk about themselves. People said that he was the most skillful conversationalist they met that night.

When you ask people to talk about themselves, it shows you're interested in learning, and that you think they are interesting. Intimate details will grow out of this kind of conversation.
